From the Pauline Magazine: He got his commission in the South Staffordshire Regiment in 1902, entered the Indian Army two years later, and got his company in 1911. At school he never shirked responsibility, and his energy was of great service to B club. He was a particularly keen member of the School Corps. He was a life member of the Old Pauline Club.
